Porcher Sponsorship Kicks-starts Local Youth Football Team
Sponsorship money provided by Porcher Abrasive Coatings is playing a key role in sports and social development for young people in the Boston area.
The most recent beneficiary is Fishtoft Youth Football Club. The Club has 12 junior teams including the recently-formed Under 7’s side, an enthusiastic group of youngsters who, under the watchful eyes of managers Andy Wicks (a Porcher employee) and James Payling, take part in league and friendly matches against other local clubs in South Lincolnshire as well as the Fishtoft YFC tournament.
Commenting on the sponsorship money, Andy and James said: “This money has been an absolute lifeline to us. It has enabled us to buy kit for the lads and has really helped to get the Under 7’s team off the ground.”
Other local youth teams and clubs to benefit from Porcher’s commitment to the local community include the Boston Junior Indoor Bowls Team, the junior section of the Boston Golf Club, and Kirton Youth Centre.
The Boston Junior Indoor Bowls Team, widely regarded as one of the most successful in the country, has more than 30 members aged under 25, many of whom have competed at county and national level. An annual event in the team’s calendar is the Porcher Challenge Trophy in which team members compete against juniors from another local club.
Sponsorship money given to the junior team that plays at Boston Golf Club has been used to buy competition trophies and new shirts. The junior section of the Club has already achieved considerable success with team members competing in a number of regional and national tournaments.
Kirton Youth Centre plays an integral role in the development and social enjoyment of local teenagers and is host to a variety of day and evening activities centred around the local community. Porcher sponsorship money goes towards the management of the Centre.
